Dear valued client and friend of Richard Stein Hair,

I’m introducing a new format for my e-newsletter and I would love to hear your feedback.

Throughout my years in the beauty business, I’ve observed that when people have a better understanding of their hair they also develop a more confident view of their personal style. They become more aware of what to wear and how to accessorize, and far more adventurous about their overall image.

As I see it, my role is to partner and help coach each individual to understand their personal beauty program. An important part of the process is educating people about any myths regarding hair. This helps dispel outdated ideas usually perpetrated by a muddle of misinformation and helps each person get a more harmonious picture of themselves.

Because of the many interests I have pursued in subjects having to do with a more delicate nature, e.g. Yoga, Tai Chi, herbs and botanicals and many other mind/body disciplines, I seem to have developed a sixth sense -- almost a psychic awareness -- of an individual’s style needs. I believe that if you can get on another person’s wavelength you can intuit what they secretly want to look like, though they themselves may not consciously have a clue!

Transformation requires many components, not the least of which is the quality of the relationship between the client and the hairdresser. I am continually exploring new ideas in my work so as to enhance the men and women, many in the public spotlight, who make up my eclectic clientele, as it continues to grow and new people seek me out.

If you would like to hear the words of others on hair, I am introducing a collection of essays, poems and prose written by some of my most famous literary clients -- among them, Poet Laureate Louse Gluck and Diane Ackerman, author of "A Natural History of The Senses" {Random House 1990}. This is part of a new upcoming book called "Split Ends", so watch for it in your bookstore soon and, of course, download it from my website.

An ongoing vision of beauty and style is vital. I would like to hear your views and concerns about hair and beauty so please send in any questions and observations you may have.

I am happy to say that my site continues to attract a new audience, bringing me wonderful clients from around the globe. I wish I could meet you all! But if you will send me your comments and share your thoughts, we can all plumb the depths of beauty together.
